Join HarperWells and Chuck Cramer AKA Mr CA Wine from Terlato Estates and the On The Road podcast for five course tasting menu accompanied by eight of California’s most notable wines.

A wonderful vibrant expression of Silex soils
Although the Girards have vines growing in all three of Sancerre's major soil types, this wine is sourced from two exceptional vineyards of Silex (flint) soil. Grapes from old vines were hand-picked and gently pressed, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine was made by Philippe Girard, Michel Girard's son, to reflect the very unique Silex terroir and character.

If ever there was a wine that tasted of the soil in which it was grown, this is it! Philippe Girard's Silex Sancerre opens with a crackle of gunsmoke and earthy, stoney notes. The full palate is lively and expressive with pronounced minerality and a long, long finish. Fantastique!!

Walk down Mitropoleos street in the centre of Athens, [walk down St. Nicholas Street and with a sideways glance into Norfolk House Yard] you can’t help noticing this small but elegant wine bar. Since the opening in 2012, [6pm, Friday 28th July] this place has been one of the main wine attractions in Athens, [Diss] and quite recently they expanded next door, [upstairs] creating even more space for thirsty wine lovers. If you’re looking for a chill and relaxed atmosphere, with people enjoying a glass of wine standing in the pedestrian street, [Courtyard] and if you are a fan of natural and low-intervention wines, this is the place to go.
It has an expertly chosen list from around Europe, as well as the most exciting wines from across Greece. Situated on a grimy street behind Syntagma Square [Harsh] Aris Sklaventis and his enthusiastic team of sommerliers [Sam, Lisa & Michelle] love to unearth old vintages or exciting new producers, so I always make it one of my first stops whenever I’m in town [Mark has never made it to Diss]

Every bottle tells a little part of our story of a rejuvenated English vineyard from vine to glass.

@gutterstarswine for our first field blend #experiencewine - now called Borrowed Origins for our third harvest. @bintwo_wine Cornish inspiration and context.  @lost_in_a_field an excellent example of a likeminded project. @arkwines brilliant innovation and technical know how. @whinyardrocks an inspired use and great interpretation of Rondo of which we seem to have plenty.

A celebration of vegetables! San Marzano Tomatoe A celebration of vegetables! 

San Marzano Tomatoes - great for pasta sauces, much more fleshy, less seeds and sweet flavour. Perfect for pasta sauces, spreading on pizza bases or amazing in salads. 

Graffiti Aubergines - pretty striated skins, quick cooking and much sweeter than ordinary aubergines - no need to salt these first. 

Crimson Asparagus - once again it is all about the sweetness with these pretty spears, much more tender and with higher antioxidants than their green counterparts. Who can resist?

Yellow courgettes - can be eaten raw, marinated in salads or simply grilled roasted or puréed. And for a gluten free alternative to pasta, they can be spiralized into spaghetti-like strands

Clos de Bellecriox faces gently north and is almos Clos de Bellecriox faces gently north and is almost always the last vineyard to be picked. With record breaking temperatures affecting the region, this is a significant advantage.
The 2021 vintage has a tight structure, but retains that classic seductive mix of red and black fruits that defies its £30 price point. As it matures it should develop nicely, we think this has lots of potential over the next five years – but it’s worth highlighting that part of the joy of Chanzy, is that it produces wines that are made to be drunk and not cellared by angel-investors.
